The most delicious blocks ever!
Aren't these gorgeous?!?! Thanks to all the ladies of the {Sew} Beautiful Bee and Sew.Bee.Create Bee. I have a few more that should arrive within the next month, and I can't wait to start putting these all together! (They are all on the same color white for the background--the clouds passed by as I photographed some of the blocks.)

4th of July
Happy 4th of July to all my friends here in the USA! After watching the fireworks on PBS tonight and putting the kids to bed, I started thinking about planning a trip to DC next year for the 4th of July. When we lived in Virginia, we once viewed the fireworks from one of the balconies of the Rayburn House Office Building, and it was amazing! I'm thinking that we need to reserve a room at a nearby hotel so that we can enjoy the festivities again. Any suggestions?
Now on to a few pics of what I've been doing...
Not too shabby this week!
Now to deal with 8 year old girl drama. Two weeks ago, she came home from summer camp with a stick of deodorant. The next week she asked to shave her legs. And this week, she informed me that she is too old for princess panties :-( Ugh. I'm not ready for this!

Yes, I'm still alive!
Goodness, it has been since February since I have posted anything! I've had a busy few months. irst, it started with a knee injury (which is better), then spring break, then a trip to Nashville with some of my blog friends, a trip to Lookout Mountain for a Mother-Daughter weekend with my oldest where she went to summer camp for the first time these past two weeks, followed by a job transfer, the end of the school year, and the beginning of summer. I haven't had much time for anything, it seems, but I have a little eye candy for you :-)
Now, for quilty projects...You might remember this quilt from almost 2 years ago. It's been a work in progress, to say the least, and was supposed to be a birthday present for my oldest's 7th birthday (she is now almost 8.5 years). I finally sent it to be quilted and the amazing Doris (a local longarmer) custom quilted this for me. It is gorgeous! I am finishing the hand-sewn binding so that I can enter it in our local quilt show in August.
Thanks for stopping by! I miss hearing from you all! Until next time...
Spring break in Upstate New York and Ottawa. You guys are blessed with some of the most beautiful mountains in the world :-)
A trip to Nashville with some of the greatest ladies ever! (L-R: Me, Kelly of KelbySews, Cara of Me? A Mom?, Kaelin of The Plaid Scottie, and Ali of a.squared.w). We sure did miss some of our other friends, but still chatted online during most of the weekend with you guys who couldn't join us. It was like one big giant slumber party weekend and I even made a few things to take home. Funny, how most of what I made were from Kelly's scraps!

From our Mother-Daughter weekend on Little River. I swear that place is a slice of heaven on earth!

A Few Bee Blocks
Not too much happening around here...trying to do the last bit of painting and staining on a staircase that we added last year (it's time for that project to be over!). Here's a few bee blocks that I've completed.
