Carpenter's star

Earlier this year, I had plans to make a king sized quilt.  I wanted to enlist the help of my bees but didn't want to violate any copyright rules.  So, I modified a pattern from Quilter's Cache to make an 18 inch block that was FQ-friendly (one solid and two prints).  And I would love to share the pattern with you :)  Please note that this is a FREE pattern, so the instructions may not be perfect.  If you come across any significant errors, please let me know.  I'd love to see what you make, so please add them to the SEWandSoQuilts Flickr group

  1. Thanks for the pattern, Cherie. I have been stalking the quilt kit for Swoon on sale at FQS but have not taken the plunge. This looks like a nice design that still utilizes fat quarters but allows more white space, I like it. Can't wait for our bee to start! Happy New Year!

  5. I love that it finishes at 18" - I need a pillowtop that size and this will be WONDERFUL - thank you so much for going through the trouble of making a pattern to share!

  8. Thanks for the pattern! I love Swoon and have done one, but wanted to try a Carpenters Star too. And finishing at 18" is perfect.

I'm just getting ready to send fabric out, but hopefully my Bee members will be posting some pictures on our blog ( http://letsbeetogether2.blogspot.com/ ) if you care to follow along to see what is being created!
